Dr ECA Kok obtained a Doctoral degree in Primary Science Education in 2017 from the University of Johannesburg. She currently serves as the HOD for the Early Childhood Education Department in the Faculty of Education.

She does research on how learners learn and teachers teach mathematics, science and technology in the foundation phase, including how student teachers learn how to teach these subject areas. She also supervises Masters and PhD Research projects in this area.
