Dr S Mokoena obtained a M.Com degree in Business Management in 2012 from the University of Zululand and a PGCE certificate from UNISA. He currently serves as a lectuer for the Social Sciences Education Department at the Faculty of Education.

He does research on mobile technologies use as e-learning, m-learning tools and has published one paper on the matter of mobile technologies use in education.
