Dr SCB Xulu obtained a Doctoral degree in IsiZulu Language and Culture in 2006 from the University of Zululand. She currently serves as the senior lecturer for the Early Childhood Education Department in the Faculty of Education.

Research interests:
She does research on how learners learn and teachers teach IsiZulu in the foundation phase, including how student teachers learn how to teach this subject. She also supervises Masters and PhD Research projects in this area.
